Roadworks restart on Lismore-Bangalow Roads

WORK on the Lismore-Bangalow Road has restarted at three locations after work was stopped in July due to persistent wet weather.

Locations of roadworks

Roads and Maritime Services has advised motorists Lismore City Council is carrying out the work at a section about 1.5 kilometres west of Clunes, a 500 metre section between the southern edge of Clunes and Johnston Road, as well as a 400 metre section at Lagoons Grass 4.5 kilometres east of Lismore.

The work aims to strengthen the road surface by mixing lime and bitumen into the existing road using specialised equipment.

At the end of every shift the road needs three hours to set before it can be opened to traffic.

Times of roadworks

Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 7pm and on the weekend of Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November at Lagoons Grass, with project completion expected by mid-November, weather permitting.

Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and workers.

Road users should follow all directions and allow extra travel time.
