Trail bike rider rescued from Mount Pikapene State Forest

THE Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Busby Flat, south-west of Casino yesterday morning to help a 21-year-old trail bike rider who had fallen heavily from his trail bike in the Mount Pikapene State Forest.

He suffered a leg fracture and other injuries, and was assisted by members of the public before the helicopter arrived.

Medical staff treated the male on scene before he was flown to the Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Another trail bike rider was airlifted from Urbenville Hospital to Lismore Base yesterday afternoon in a stable condition.
