21yo arrested for dealing ecstasy

POLICE from the Richmond Local Area Command raided a Ballina restaurant on Friday night arresting a 21-year-old Alstonville man for dealing ecstasy.

Following investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at the business premises about 10pm, seizing a significant quantity of pills and cash.

The Alstonville man was taken to Ballina police station where he was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail and appeared in Lismore Local Court on Saturday, where he was granted conditional bail but failed to meet the bail conditions. He was remanded in custody to appear in court again today.

The arrest was part of an ongoing police investigation targeting the supply of drugs in the Richmond Local Area Command.
