Residents soak up rainfall as city hit with drenching
The Garden City was hit with at least 25mm since 9am on Saturday, with the rain being welcomed by plenty of residents.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted the wet weather to stick around until the middle of the week, with Tuesday to be particularly heavy.
“It’s not as fleeting as you might expect — Toowoomba is on the eastern fringe of a main band of showers, but tomorrow we’re expecting between 15-20mm in Toowoomba, and that will hang around for a couple more days,” meteorologist Rosa Hoff said.
A severe storm warning was issued for a large section of southeast Queensland including Toowoomba yesterday afternoon, with thunder heard over the city.
