Research reveals gambler profile

INTERNET gamblers are more likely to be male, have higher incomes, work full-time and be married according to new research lead by Southern Cross University researchers.

The findings come from a study of the behaviour of 6682 internet gamblers, the biggest study of its kind undertaken in Australia.

Having access to the comforts of home and not having to drive anywhere are just two of the advantages of internet gambling identified in the report. But it was also found that 24-hr access and convenience were considered as a disadvantage by some gamblers who said that it was easier to spend too much money when gambling on the net.
