Rescue animals need homes at NRAS Adoption Day

THE first Northern Rivers Animal Services (NRAS) Adoption Day for 2016 will be held this weekend.

Continuing its ongoing commitment and partnership with NRAS, Petstock Ballina will once again play host to the Adoption Day at the Boeing Ave store in the Harvey Norman Centre on Saturday, 10am-2pm.

NRAS currently has more than 30 cats and kittens in foster care, cat coordinator Leah Worboys said.

Prospective adoptees are asked to complete a questionnaire to make sure their home will be suitable for rescue animals.

If living in rented accommodation, adoptees must have written permission from their landlord to have a pet.

It is also important that animals taken on the day have an appropriate lead or harness for dogs or a cat cage for safe transportation.

There are no EFTPOS or credit card facilities but cash and cheque payments or direct deposits will be accepted at the time of adoption.

For further information, contact NRAS on 6681 1860 during weekday office hours of 10am-4pm.
