Redesign makes library like a living room

LIBRARIES are no longer just about books, or databases, or comfortable chairs, Richmond Valley Council Mayor Ernie Bennett said.

Funding from the state government has ensured events such as exhibitions, story time for kids, information technology programs for seniors, and stimulating holiday activities for teenagers and the younger members would continue in the revamped space.

Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis said the redesign of the interior of the Casino Library gives the library a more modern layout and the rearranging of furniture has created a living room style in a public space, Mr Gulaptis said.

“Public libraries, like Casino’s, are vibrant community centres, where all users are welcome and the redesign brings the library up to modern standards, reflecting designs consistent with trends in newer libraries, the Mr Bennett said,
