Red Cross needs more volunteers

THE Red Cross is urgently looking for more volunteers for its Telecross Service to provide a daily phone call to check on the well-being of people living alone in the Northern Rivers.

Telecross is a potentially life saving Red Cross service which provides peace of mind to clients, their families and caregivers by simply ensuring that a phone call is made at least once per day to check on their well-being and safety.

The majority of volunteers make calls seven days a week on a monthly roster basis.

Volunteers make the calls from the comfort of their own homes or from their workplace and are provided with training and ongoing support.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Bernadette Daley on 6622 0788, or bdaley@redcross.org.au
