Recent rainfall will boost Norco Primex numbers

BILLED as the rural meeting place, Norco Primex has been bringing the latest information and technology to Northern Rivers farmers for the past 32 years.

Fairfax Rural Events group manager Kate Nugent said Primex had cemented its place among the state’s cattlemen and women as a must-see event in northern NSW.

“There’s a very strong focus this year on innovation. Norco Primex assists in giving farmers the knowledge and equipment to adapt in these ever-changing times,” Ms Nugent said.

While areas of south-east Queensland and western NSW are in the grip of drought, Casino and surrounding areas has received good rainfall in the months leading up to Primex, leaving exhibitors confident this will translate into an influx of visitor numbers and cash flow.

The market is strong for producers of beef with cattle prices on a high, and this is reflected in the numbers and variety of breeders attending this year’s event.

An important feature of Norco Primex 2016 is the Primex Heifer and Bull Classic competitions, along with the commercial Heifer Sale.

Once again, the Livestock Area will showcase a strong contingent of top quality beef breeds.
