Lynne Randall has the best garden on the Northern Rivers

THE judges have scoured the region looking at gorgeous gardens and have declared Lynne Randall's of Kyogle to be this year's Northern Rivers grand champion.

The grand champion is judged from the winners of the four champion gardens from Kyogle, Casino, Lismore and the Woodburn and District garden clubs.

Ms Randall said she bought her home 10 years ago and had been working on the garden for seven.

"Back then, it was all lawn and I have transformed it into the most amazing, magic garden space," she said.

She is an active member of the Kyogle Garden Club and loves getting together with like-minded people.

"People who come together in garden clubs have a passion for plants and gardens; we are nature people, in love with the earth and love sharing plants," she said.

"We go on visits (to gardens) at every available opportunity. It's a link with kind and like-minded people."

Kyogle Garden Club's organiser and vice-president, Geoff Densley, said Randall's garden was "eclectic and very artistic".

"There are a lot of design ideas within it. There's lot of unusual features, like she's used rope from trawlers as edging," he said.

The grand champion was judged by a panel of three: Kathleen Henderson, of Billinudgel, Mike West, of Coraki, and Chris Ryan, of Coraki.
