Ram raid and car chases leave three in custody

THREE people are in custody after a ram raid in Ballina and subsequent vehicle pursuits across the Northern Rivers.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command said that a ram raid at a Kerr Street motorcycle dealership in Ballina had occurred around 3.30am this morning.

Between then and 7.30am, the police were very busy.

A car was later pursued from near the scene of the ram raid to Ewingsdale, where the car was stopped and two men were arrested.

Later in the morning another car was pursued in the Tweed area before it was stopped with the use of road spikes at Chinderah.

Another man was then arrested in relation to the incident.

Police said while nobody had been charged, the three men were in custody assisting with inquires.
