THE Australian Rally Championships have landed on the Coffs Coast.

A Honda Jazz has touched down at the Coffs Harbour Regional Airport ahead of next week's official launch of the Snake Racing Coffs Coast Rally, October 12-14.

As the fifth and penultimate round of the Bosch ARC, the Coffs Coast Rally will reaffirm Coffs Harbour's reputation as the Australian rallying capital.

"The Snake Racing Coffs Coast Rally will utilise the airport as the base for its service park, just as the world rally event did last year, of course it won't be to the same scale, but it will still be an impressive sight," Rally Australia Operations Manager Scott Bedford said.

"Just over a month out from the rally and we are also pleased with the large number of people who have come forward and volunteered as officials for the ARC event - without our volunteers this rally just wouldn't be possible.

The Coffs Coast Rally has been opened to all comers meaning rally car owners, whose vehicles do not meet CAMS classes, can still compete on the Saturday of the rally.

Application forms for volunteers and officials are available at www.rally.com.au
