Rain on the way as menacing cloud rolls over Lismore

A MENACING-looking storm cloud is moving in over Lismore, but don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks, North Coast Storm Chasers have said.

Antonio from the Storm Chasers told followers on their Facebook page this morning that "we have a rain band approaching alongside the ranges and nearing Grafton".

"This band is accompanied by some embedded storms mainly thundery rainy mess.

"This would likely continue to move E / SE over the next couple of hours and should reach the coast in time.

"If the band does not clear quick enough for more heating this afternoon i would say then that would be it for the day.

"I would not be surprised to see this thundery rain band develop more storms as it approaches East where there currently is plenty of heat and sunshine."

Half an hour ago the Storm Chasers updated their Facebook followers:

"Okay so we have our rain band continuing to move E / SE with some embedded thunderstorms," Antonio said.

"Storms are not severe in nature really more thundery rain.

"Some flash flooding could be possible under the storm sections.

"This band is continuing to move E / SE towards the coast now.

"Thundery rain is possible from Yamba to Ballina and surrounds possibly even further north."
