READERS had a tough job yesterday, trying to pick today's Photo of the Day.

They eventually settled on this spectacular image by Rachael Ingram of a spider's web, taken early one morning last week at Bexhill. However, there was a bit of back and forth before the matter was settled.

At one point it looked like a really amazing storm photo taken by Rosie Kew of Friday night's thunderstorm might make it before the voting settled solidly on Rachael's shot, which ended up with 39% of the vote.

The Photo of the Day is intended to highlight the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of the region's photographers.

As well as appearing here, it is published on Page 2 of our print edition used as the cover image on our Facebook page and forms part of an expanding gallery on our website. To submit an image for Photo of the Day, just go to our Facebook page and share it.

Now to tomorrow.

We've had five wonderful images submitted for tomorrow's Photo of the Day. Take a look at the poll below and pick your favourite. You can see bigger versions of the images by hitting the gallery link within the poll, or you can just click here.

Voting closes at noon.
