WATCH: Woman in critical condition

 

UPDATE 10AM: The 32-year-old woman involved in last night's crash on Goodwood Rd is currently in a critical but stable condition.

A Bundaberg Hospital spokeswoman said the driver was rushed to theatre last night upon arrival and was now in the intensive care unit.

The decision to transfer her to Brisbane will be made later today.

The 19-year-old man is stable and may be discharged from hospital today while the boy, 9 and girl, 11 had minor injuries and are expected to be discharged soon.

 

UPDATE 6AM:  Police have released the age and sex  of two people injured in a serious crash last night on Goodwood Rd.

A 19-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries including a suspected facial fracture and the 32-year-old female driver of the second vehicle sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash.

Two children were also taken to hospital in stable conditions.

A police release said initial information suggests that at 8.15pm, two cars collided head-on around 26kms south of Bundaberg on Goodwood Rd.

Vehicle occupants were transported to the Bundaberg Base Hospital for treatment.

Goodwood Rd was closed for a number of hours, but has since reopened.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

UPDATE 10.30PM: TWO people have been rushed to hospital after being cut from their cars after a horror head-on Goodwood Rd.

  

 

 

EARLIER: EMERGENCY teams have been working to free two drivers from their cars after a high speed collision south of Bundaberg tonight.

The crash happened at about 8.40pm on Goodwood Rd around 25km north of Childers, 200m from the Isis Pet Resort where the owners heard a 'bang' and raced out to a harrowing scene.

A family member said the noise of the collision sounded like a gunshot.

One group of paramedics and firefighters worked to cut free the driver of a white Ford Falcon while another were still working to free the driver of a blue sedan.

The two cars ended up 60m apart with the road between the two littered with debris.

 

In the debris was an aluminium wheel from one of the vehicles that was torn off due to the high impact of the smash. 

The road is closed and drivers are advised to take the Childers Rd as an alternative.
