Handmade quilts on show at Caroona Kalina Nursing Home

BEAUTIFUL handmade quilts will be on show at the Caroona Kalina Nursing Home in Goonellabah this weekend.

The fundraising event, the Airing of the Quilts, is open to the public and would be of particular interest to anyone involved in quilting or fine handicrafts.

All money raised will go towards the nursing home's Creative Ageing Program.

Residents have been busy preparing for the event during their art and craft sessions, making decorations and bunting.

The Airing of the Quilts will be held today and tomorrow from 10am-4pm.

Admission will be $5 and this includes a cup of tea or coffee at the recently opened Splash Café.

The event will be officially opened by Lismore Mayor Jenny Dowell at 11am today.

Cr Dowell has donated a quilt to Caroona Kalina and will be displaying some quilts her mother made.
