QUEENSLAND drivers filled the first three placings in the NSW Formula 500 Premier Drivers’ Series round at Lismore Speedway on Saturday night.
Dale Shillleto took the win in the 20-lap main event from Kristen Brown and Nathan Pronger.
The first NSW drivers home were Roy Urpeth (fourth) and Kenny Norman (fifth).
Series leader Michael Baxter could manage only a lowly 17th, his worst result yet, leaving the championship wide open.
With Norman fifth and Baxter well back, the battle for the series championship has closed up as Norman chases top spot.
Shilleto, also the Victorian Formula 500 champion, was the star of the night. He came from deep in the field to win the main event, which ran flag-to-flag in the super-quick race time of 4 minutes 35 seconds for the 20-lap distance.
Other main event winners on Saturday night were Jordan Biviano (junior sedans), Warren Dhu (street stocks), Trent Dhu (four-cylinder sedans), Nick Stubbs (AMCAs) and Dave Fleming (lightning sprints).
The action at Lismore Speedway continues next weekend with a two-night fixture featuring the V8 Dirt Modified Masters.
