Put on your little red dress for a fun run with a difference
EVERYONE loves an excuse to frock up and now Lismore's Hash House Harriers are putting on their best red dresses and running shoes to raise money for Southern Cross LADS. (Learn About Driving Skills was formed after tragic local road deaths.)
The Hash House Harriers is an international group of social jogging clubs. Somewhere in their history they decided it would be a good idea to run in red dresses and the Red Dress Run was born.
The Northern Rivers branch is embracing the idea and its members will run around South Lismore on Monday, February 16.
It's a 4km run (or as much as you can run in an hour if you are keen).
The Hash House Harriers meet every Monday evening at 6pm at a different location in Lismore for a social, non-competitive, non-frock run. They then chase it down with a few drinks and something to eat.
They are always looking for new people to join their merry band of fun and fitness enthusiasts.
"The only rules are there are no rules. You just need a sense of fun and adventure," said Patrick Fitzbugden aka Bituman. (Oh, they all have silly aliases too).
