EVEN before it found its way into yesterday's Photo of the Day poll, this beautiful little bird, snapped by Di Lymbury, was turning heads.

Di shared the image to our Facebook page early Wednesday, asking for help identifying the bird.

A bit of discussion revealed it was a restless flycatcher. When it came to the voting yesterday, Di's flycatcher was part of a field of fabulous images, all of which grabbed a respectable share of the vote.

The flycatcher came out in front with 31% of poll participants choosing it as their favourite.

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of the region's photographers.

As well as appearing here, the Photo of the Day is also published on Page 2 of our print edition and appears as the cover image on our Facebook page.

To submit an image for Photo of the Day, share it to our Facebook page.

WE have seven images in the running for Photo of the Day for tomorrow and Monday and they're all so good I'm having real trouble picking a favourite.

Luckily, as this poll is picking two photos of the day, everyone gets two votes, which may make things slightly easier.

Have a look in the poll below and choose your favourite.

Voting closes at noon.
