Crticially-ill baby flown to QLD

Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter returned at 2.30pm from flying a critically-ill premature baby from Lismore Base Hospital to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.

The baby was born overnight at Lismore Base Hospital, 11-weeks premature.

A specialist neo-natal intensive care team drove down from Brisbane to accompany the helicopter crew on the flight to Mater Hospital.

The helicopter left Lismore at 10.40am this morning and reached Mater Hospital at 11.20am.
