Preliminary works for two new power lines to begin

ESSENTIAL Energy will soon start preliminary works along the Bruxner Hwy in preparation for the construction of two new high voltage power lines to secure the reliability of the power supply for customers in Lismore, Ballina and Mullumbimby.

The work is part of the seven-year Lismore to Mullumbimby power line upgrade.

The work will involve trimming and removing some vegetation on the north side of the highway between Lismore and Ballina, east of Tweakwood Dr near the Duck Creek Mountain Rd turn-off.

New power lines will be constructed and sections of the old line will be removed.

Weather permitting, work will start on January 13.
