Power chasing third-straight victory
THE number three will feature heavily for Will Power in the lead-up to Sunday's IndyCar Sao Paulo 300 in Brazil.
Power leads the IndyCar drivers' championship following three rounds after producing stunning drives to win the past two races of the season.
The Toowoomba driver will be chasing his third-straight victory of the season on the 2.6km street curcuit and will be a big chance to do that given his outstanding record in the Brazilian city.
The 31-year-old is the two-time defending Sao Paulo Indy 300 champion, his biggest challenge likely to come from Team Penske teammate, Brazilian Helio Castroneves, who sits second behind Power in the drivers' championship.
Castroneves won the first race of the season and will be keen to oust his teammate this weekend in his home nation.
"The team has certainly been doing a phenomenal job starting obviously three races of the season and able to capture three wins," Castroneves told the IndyCar website.
In the lead-up to the Sao Paulo 300, Power has been named the first quarter winner of the Driver of the Year award in the United States.
