Pottsville, Bearsare well placed

POTTSVILLE'S batsmen will be aiming to kick on and secure first-innings points when Far North Coast LJ Hooker League cricket resumes today.

Jamie Bennett's side starts the second day of its clash with Cudgen well placed.

A three-wicket haul for Adam Little helped reduce Cudgen to 213 all out on the first day at Reg Dalton Oval, Kingscliff.

Pottsville, which needs the points to get back in contention for a top four spot, will resume on 1-59.

Elsewhere, competition leaders Ballina Bears will aim to reinforce their superiority with an outright win over Terranora Lakes.

Bears will start the day at Fripp Oval on 1-98 after dismissing Terranora for just 107.

Meanwhile, Casino Cavaliers will need a mighty batting effort to give themselves a chance against Lennox Head.

The hosts racked up an imposing 9-319 declared on the first day at Megan Crescent Oval, with Daniel Emms blasting an unbeaten 88.

There is all to play for at Hill Park Oval, Wollongbar, where Alstonville will resume on 5-129 against Tintenbar-East Ballina.

Meanwhile, Marist Brothers' batsmen will need to keep their cool to claim first innings points at least against Murwill-umbah.

Brothers looked to be on their way to a possible outright victory after dismissing the struggling hosts for just 130 at Rabjones Oval.

Kobi Mills led the fightback, though, taking two wickets to help reduce Luke Collings's side to 4-81 at stumps.
