Port Macquarie jockey picks up a double at Ballina

PORT Macquarie jockey Peter Graham rode a winning double at the Ballina Jockey Club TAB meeting on Saturday.

Graham rode more than 60 winners to be in the top 20 riders in country New South Wales last season.

He finished the day at Ballina on the three-year-old mare California Star ($5) in the XXXX Gold Class 1 Hcp (1310m).

He also rode the horse when it won a Maiden Plate (1200m) in Coffs Harbour in March.

In an earlier race yesterday Graham won a Benchmark 51 Hcp (1910m) on five-year-old gelding So Hot ($15).

He has another five rides at Grafton today.

Racing will continue on the Northern Rivers this week with TAB meetings at Murwillum- bah tomorrow and at Lismore on Saturday.
