Police seize $3.6 million of cannabis in drug raids

POLICE have nipped cannabis growers in the bud after a week long operation.

The raids saw 1816 cannabis crops seized with a total street value of $3.6 million.

Properties in Burringbar, Glengarrie, Chillingham and Cudgera Creek were targeted.

On Tuesday, police seized 350 crops from a property in Cudgera Creek, which saw a 59-year-old man arrested.

The man will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on March 25.

They were helped by the NSW Police Air Wing, Police Dog Unit, Metropolitan Radio Network Services and officers from the Tweed-Byron Local Area Command.
