Police seek help in Newrybar seven-car crash investigation
NO charges have been laid by police over a seven car crash at Newrybar on Friday afternoon.
Ballina police acting Inspector Jackie Lilley said police were yet to obtain a statement from the 43-year-old man who was driving a Nissan Micra involved in the crash.
Insp Lillie, who went to the scene on Friday, said all people involved were very lucky to escape without serious injuries.
The crash occurred at about 4.20pm when a Nissan Micra, travelling south on the Pacific Highway near Newrybar, collided with a Toyota Hilux travelling in the opposite direction.
A Hyundai Elantra and two other vehicles were then hit, with a sixth and seventh vehicle running into the back of these.
The driver of the Nissan Micra, a 43-year old Queensland man, suffered internal injuries and was airlifted to Lismore Base HospitalAnyone with any information is urged to phone Ballina police on 6681 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
