Police search for missing man

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who has gone missing from his home at Barraba in the New England region over the weekend.

Ian Madden, aged 53, was last seen by neighbours on the morning of Sunday, July 10, and has failed to make any contact with family since.

Police and relatives have concerns for Mr Madden’s welfare as the disappearance is out of character.

His family believe he may have hitchhiked to Queensland, but this cannot be confirmed.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, 183cm tall, of solid build, with a mixture of dark and grey hair and prescription tinted glasses.

Anyone with information about his movements or current whereabouts is asked to contact Oxley Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
