Bandits rob 7-Eleven with large knives in morning raid

Updated report 1.07pm: TWO armed men threatened a 7-Eleven store clerk with "large knives" before running away with cash in the early hours of this morning.  

"About 3.20am two male persons threatened the employee with large knives," Inspector Jim Kain said.   "They then forced the man to open the cash register."  

The thieves left with cash, and while the store worker, 37, was not harmed he was "upset and shaken up."  

CCTV footage of the offenders is being examined by Tweed police; the forensic unit from the Richmond Local Area   Command was at the scene earlier today.  

Police are now appealing for the public to help find the two men.  

The first man is described as 185cm tall, fair completion, between 20 and 25 years old.   He was wearing a black beanie, black jumper, light grey-blue jeans.  

Insp Kain said the man used a piece of material to cover his mouth and face.  

The second offender is described as also male and described as being 18 to 20-years-old with a fair completion, thin   build and 165cm tall.  

He was wearing a black full faced balaclava, a black long sleeve top, grey shorts and black Nike shoes.

Initial report 10.22am: POLICE are on scene investigating a break and enter at the 7-Eleven on Minjungbal Dr.

It is believed the petrol station was broken into about 3.30am.

Police are unavailable for comment at this time.
