Cop killed in axe attack while attending domestic dispute

A SENIOR NSW police officer has been killed in the line of duty.

Detective Inspector Bryson Anderson, 45, was allegedly attacked with an axe at a property near Windsor after responding to a neighbourhood brawl late Thursday.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

A 19-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were arrested.

A Critical Incident team has been investigating the scene.
