Police nab three over violent robbery at Sydney bank

THREE men have been arrested over the violent armed robbery of a western Sydney bank.

Police had been hunting three people since bank staff at Seven Hills were terrorised with a gun and sledgehammer in June last year.

A staff member activated the security screens but one of the men got behind the counter and fired a shot into a wall.

The men fled in Mercedes which had been stolen during an aggravated break-in at Mosman in 2011.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga in country NSW on Wednesday morning and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and other offences.

His two co-accused were arrested at Silverwater and Bankstown late Tuesday. All three have been refused bail.
