Police nab cafe robber

A LISMORE man has been arrested and charged in relation to break and enters at two Lismore businesses in November.

Police said around 5.20am on the 22nd of November 2012 a café on Carrington St at Lismore was broken into.

An investigation was launched and following a search warrant this morning at an address in East Lismore, police from Richmond Target Action Group arrested and charged a 23 year old man with break, enter and steal.

Police allege the man along with two co-offenders, broke into the café by forcing open the front window.

Once inside, the cash register draw was stolen along with a sum of cash, including the staff's tips that they had been saving for Christmas.

Police arrested the man at the scene and he was taken to Lismore Police Station.

During the execution of the search warrant police found evidence relating to the alleged offence.

Police said the same man was charged previously on the 29th of November in regards to a break, enter and steal at a Lismore car dealership on the 12th of November 2012.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Lismore Local Court on January 21.
