Police investigate after children approached

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after two children were approached in Kingscliff on Wednesday afternoon. 

About 5.10pm, a boy and girl, aged 10 and eight, were walking and riding on North Point Ave, when they passed a  small black car which was parked on the side of the road. 

A man called out from the car and motioned to the children, who became afraid and ran to their parents.

The parents then notified Tweed/Byron Local Area Command police, who attended and began an investigation. 

The man was described as having dark skin, short grey hair and aged between 50 and 60. 

The car was small and black with tinted windows. 

Investigators wish to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has more information which may assist with their inquiries.
