Police arrest three anti-CSG protesters at Glenugie

POLICE have arrested three CSG protesters at the Glenugie drill site where Metgasco recently completed exploratory drilling.

It is understood the protesters were trying to stop traffic flowing to and from the site when police made the arrests.

Coffs Clarence Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Milner said the protesters had been removed from the site and expected them to be charged shortly.

On January 7, 18 protesters were arrested in Glenugie when police broke a blockade which had successfully barred Metgasco contractors from entering the site for 48 days.

Many of those signed bail conditions preventing them from returning to the area.
