Police dog sniffs out drugs and cash

A DRUG detection dog has sniffed out more than 5 kilograms of cannabis and 91 grams of cannabis resin at a Lismore home.

Police executed a search warrant on a Dalley St address about 10am yesterday.

During the search the drug detection dog made a number of indications toward the main bedroom of the house occupied by a 58-year-old man.

A search of the main bedroom discovered 5.4kg of cannabis stored in various containers, 12 grams of an unidentified crystal substance, 91 grams of cannabis resin and more than $9000 cash.

The 58-year-old man was taken to Lismore police station where he was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court in November.
