Police catch fans with Running Man Challenge

POLICE officers from around the world have been busting out their best 'running man' dance moves in an online craze that's gone viral.

The well-rehearsed videos - performed to the song My Boo by the Ghost Town DJs - have been popping up on social media pages like Facebook, some gaining more than a million views.

NSW Police's running man video, performed with the Manly Wharf backdrop, has been watched almost 1.5 million times.

They accepted the challenge from NSW Police Recruitment and passed it onto Queensland and Victoria Police, California Highway Patrol and Metropolitan Police Service.

There's also some very funny, and cute, videos from the Northern Territory Police and Scotland Police, just to name a few.

Here at the Northern Star, we're pretty impressed and are throwing out the running man challenge to our local police officers from the Richmond and Tweed/Byron Local Area Commands.

After all, we know there are some talented dancers amongst our police officers.

Last year, Byron Bay police representative Hannah Logan tied for judge's choice award in the Byron Bay Dance for Cancer fundraiser night in 2015.

Lismore police officer Laleynya Ryan was a crowd favourite at the Lismore Dancer for Cancer competition last year with her freestyle Rock 'n' Roll routine.
