Beach crash results in serious neck injury
UPDATE: A MAN in his 40s has been taken to hospital with a serious neck injury following a beach crash at Mackay Harbour.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called at 3.56pm this afternoon.
She confirmed a critical care paramedic also attended the beach site off East Point Drive after a motorbike rider was seriously injured.
It is understood the extrication was tricky.
About 5.15pm three police crews, two fire crews and an ambulance left the site.
The man was transported to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
INITIAL: EMERGENCY crews are responding to a serious crash at Mackay harbour.
Paramedics are on scene at a motorbike crash on the beach off East Point Drive.
It is understood police have been called to help transport the patient from the beach track.
The incident occurred about 500m from the car park.
At this stage injuries are unknown.
