Police call for help over Ballina break-ins on Sunday night

POLICE investigating a spate of break-ins at Ballina on Sunday night are appealing for information.

Lismore police Chief Inspector Nicole Bruce said thieves broke into residences in Skinner St, King St, Tamar St and Namitijira Pl, between 8pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday.

Chief Insp Bruce said forensic police had examined the four properties and police had no suspects for the break-ins.

"In King St unknown persons entered through a ground floor sliding door, which was forced open," she said.

Chief Insp Bruce said police recovered property from the nearby riverbank stolen in the King St break-in including a jewellery box, jewellery, a money tin and keys.

"In Namitijira Place they have got in through an open ground floor rear door and stolen money," she said.

Chief Insp Bruce said police couldn't say whether the break-ins were separate cases or the same people were involved every time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
