Police arrest two G'bah teens over stolen gaming equipment

POLICE have arrested two teenagers aged 13 and 14 who were in possession of allegedly stolen gaming equipment at Goonellabah overnight.

Lismore police Inspector Doug Conners said in the early hours of this morning officers located two young people in the Goonellabah area.

"Upon sighting police the young people tried to hide from the officers," he said.

"Police located the two teenagers in McDermott Park and they were allegedly found to be in possession of a number of gaming items."

Insp Conners said the gaming items included a Playstation 3 console, an X-Box console and assorted X-Box games.

"The 13-year-old boy was subsequently charged with goods in custody while the other young person has been referred for caution," he said.

"Police are making enquiries into where the items came from.

"It's anticipated further charges may be laid."

The 13-year-old boy was granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Children's Court at a future date.
