Police arrest male youth for hindering murder investigation

A YOUNG man has been charged with hindering the investigation into the death of Kings Cross bashing victim Thomas Kelly.

It's been eight months since 18-year-old Thomas died in hospital after being king hit in an unprovoked attack in Sydney's notorious Golden Mile.

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old man was charged with intent to pervert the course of justice, hinder investigation, common assault and stealing.

Police will allege that on the night Thomas was hit, the teenager also assaulted a man in Kings Cross and stole an item from a fast food outlet.

The arrest was made by detectives from Strike Force Mohawk, who continue to investigate Thomas' death.

Another man remains before the courts charged with his murder.
