Closing time robbery crackdown

POLICE will be stepping up patrols of Northern Rivers pubs and clubs this holiday season to ward off potential thieves thinking of striking around closing time.

The crackdown follows three recent robberies of clubs on the Mid-North Coast and in the Clarence Valley that occurred around midnight.

Richmond Local Area Command crime manger Insp Greg Moore said police would be patrolling local venues in an attempt to avoid similar robberies.

He urged staff and patrons to report any suspicious activity, people or vehicles near pubs and clubs to local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
