Poles apart on press freedom

ANTI-government protests in Poland continued into a third day as opposition leaders blockaded the parliament in Warsaw, in a move the ruling party condemned as an illegal attempt to seize power. About 25 members of the main opposition party continued their sit-in in parliament on Sunday as protesters gathered outside to condemn the ruling party's plan to restrict journalists' access to parliament. European Council President and former Polish prime minister Donald Tusk invoked the word "dictatorship” and recalled protests in Poland under communism that ended in bloodshed. He said whoever was undermining the "European model of democracy” in Poland was "exposing us all to strategic risks”. - INM
