Players get on board as junior coaches

MARIST Brothers first grade rugby league players will be kept busy this year with six of them coaching junior teams at the club.

Darryl Butcher, Dean French, Jacob Rose, Sio Alefosio, Jack Durheim and Lachie Perren will be involved with junior teams.

French was the Group One Junior Rugby League Coach of the Year last season with past senior players also on board.

Butcher has coached junior teams at the club for several years with Perren in one of those teams a few years ago.

Alefosio is new to the club and is likely to be one of the top centres in the NRRRL.

The Rams will be coached by Michael Woods again this year in his second season back at the club.

Meanwhile, the first sign-on day for the juniors is 10am to 1pm and will coincide with a working bee for the seniors at Crozier Field, Lismore, today.

The second sign-on is next Saturday from 10am to 1pm with a final sign-on set down for the following Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.

New players are welcome, with the competition to start in April.
