Planning makes perfect wedding
BRIDES to be were spoiled for choice at the 11th Ballina Bridal Expo held yesterday.
Ballina RSL marketing and promotions manager Vicki Veitch said the expo was a great way for anyone planning a wedding to find out just what is out there.
"We have photographers, beauticians, careering, jewellery, hair stylists, cars, decorators and wedding planners," Ms Veitch said.
"The photo booth is new this year. Brides and their families can go and have their picture taken. There's lots of things on show today that a bride may never have thought of."
"The fantasy wedding took place today and we released the doves. The two white doves that the bride and groom released symbolise the bride and groom. They had another cage with five or six doves which the wedding party released, and they symbolised the family of the bride and groom."
Bride-to-be, Nerissa Papoulias of Ocean Shores is planning her wedding for December 1.
She said she was visiting the expo to find out just what local business had to offer her on the big day.
"I've made a couple of choices already but I just wanted to see what the local people had to offer and to compare," she said.
"I went up to an expo on the Gold Coast and I wanted to compare them. This one has a much better feel. It's more intimate."
