Plane diverted after man breaks handcuffs for more whisky

A DRUNKEN plane passenger's alleged attempts to get more whisky saw a Qantas flight from Bangkok diverted.

The 34-year-old man allegedly broke four pairs of plastic handcuffs while trying to get more to drink on the flight to Sydney. The plane was forced to land in Cairns where the man was arrested by waiting police.

He was charged with disorderly and offensive behaviour, and interfering with crew or the aircraft.
