POLICE are investigating an armed robbery at a takeaway pizza shop in Casino overnight.

Just after 8.30pm yesterday, two men, both wearing balaclavas and one armed with a pistol, entered the Canterbury Street business.

Police have been told the armed man threatened a 19-year-old male staff member, while the other took cash from the tills before they both left the shop.

No-one was injured in the incident, police said.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command have established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers, and are continuing the investigation.
