Phantom event to replace Tabulam races this Saturday

RACING NSW delivered the announcement race-goers were not wanting to hear today.

The annual Tabulam Races has been postponed due to wet weather although a phantom event will still be on.

"Please note Tabulam races on Saturday (7th November) have been postponed due to wet weather," they announced on their website.

"Stewards inspected the track this afternoon and found it had surface water."

While rumours were confused due to conflicting messages on different Facebook sights, Tabulam Racing Club confirmed the news.

"The Stewards inspected the track at 6pm this evening and decided it was too wet to run any races tomorrow," it posted.

"There is still a phantom meeting happening, so get yourselves out here, the beer is cold and someone has to drink it.

"The bar will be open from 11am.

"The TAB will be operating on Sydney and interstate events, the Kidz Klub will be here.

"There are already 300 campers at the racetrack.

"The races are definitely on, just no local horses.
