Pedestrian killed at Lennox Head

A 55-YEAR-OLD Alstonville man has died after he was hit by a car on Coast Road at Lennox Head last night.

The incident occurred just before 9.30pm.

It is alleged the man was lying on the road when he was struck by a northbound Toyota Celica. He died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old-man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

The Ballina Crash Investigation Unit is conducting inquiries into the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
