Participation is key at Blue Hills college swimming carnival

THE Blue Hills College swimming carnival at Alstonville Pool was, according to one swimmer, brightened by the presence of her house.

Taylor Fairfull-Bryant said that the event was "really colourful and exciting with the three houses well represented".

"There's a lot of younger kids racing this year and they're also learning about sportsmanship and that losing is OK," Taylor said.

"The turnout is good and it's great to see many of the students have dressed up in their house colours for the occasion.

"Thompson house is clearly going to win; we have the spirit and everyone in our house is in a race.

"And Thompson, the red house, is what brings the happiness and sunshine to an event like this."
