BYRON Bay’s most anticipated show of the year rolled into town last Thursday night.

Parkway Drive, Byron’s biggest legacy to the hard-core music industry, played their latest show at Byron High.

After releasing their third studio album earlier this year, which reached number two on the ARIA charts, this show was sure to be a sellout from the moment it was first announced.

The show began with local support band 50 Lions, who played a great set that got the crowd going.

They were followed by The Ghost Inside, who played a good mix of older and new songs, including many their second studio album Returners.

The main supporting act was The Devil Wears Prada, in one of their first performances in Australia.

The crowd reacted well to their set, which included songs from all of their three studio albums and their recently released “Zombie” EP.

After much anticipation and in front of by far the biggest crowd Byron High had seen, Parkway Drive then stormed on stage with the first two songs off their newest album “Deep Blue”.

Of all the shows I’ve seen, nothing could compare to the reaction of the crowd and the atmosphere they provided.

Even the band was somewhat taken aback and said: “This was the most insane show we’ve ever played before.”

Parkway Drive included songs off all three albums and the crowd went absolutely insane for each and every one.

The show included absolutely everything you could expect to see and more - stage-diving onto boats and surf boards, oompah loompa’s moshing in the middle and one of the best live acts, by one of the best bands.

The local Byron boys turned it on for their home crowd.

“Nothing that could have made it any better,” one fan said.

It may be a while before we see the boys from Byron again and they will probably struggle to beat a show like that anyway the next time they come home.
