Parkway Drive ends year at the top

BYRON BAY metal rock band Parkway Drive finished 2015 in the 20 Fastest Selling Albums of 2015 list and the Top Ten Independent Label Albums of 2015 with their fifth album, Ire.

After 14 weeks, Parkway Drive's Ire ended 2015 in the number 4 position of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association after topping the album charts at the time of its release.

The band reached the top position in the Aria Albums Chart last october with Ire.

The announcement coincided with the band playing at the Byron Bay High school as part of their national Ire tour.

Ire is the band's fourth Top 10 album and the first to make it to No.1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Not many Australian acts were listed in the ARIA end of year Top 100 Singles chart.

No Australian performers made the Top 10 for 2015, and although 14 hit the Top 100, six were produced in the USA.

Brisbane's Jarryd James Do You Remember is the highest ranking all Australian produced and performed song in the Australian Top 100 in position number 22.

The next Aussie in the list is at nunmber 46: Fire and the Flood by Vance Joy.
